AMDA Launches Vaccination
The AMDA-Nepal has launched vaccination against the Japanese encephalitis in all seven camps from July 23 taking at least a week. The organization had aimed to vaccinate over 35,000 children aged between 1-15 years in the camps.
King Signs Constitution
At a special function organized in Tashichodzong on July 18, King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk signed the constitution of the ‘Kingdom of Bhutan’. On the occasion, former king Jigme Singye Wangchuk, other royal family members and constitution drafting committee members were present.
The signing ceremony was organized soon after the prime minister, the executive chief of the country, returned from his foreign visit. The government had declared the as national constitution day and announced public holiday. Earlier, the constitution was planned to be signed on June 2 but on the request of the king, the signing ceremony was delayed. BNS
New theater
A new film hall in Thimphu, opened on mid of July, is expected to ease the film producers and viewers on Thimphu. The 440-seat Trowa Theatre has been opened for public at Changjij screening of 'Singye Galem,' a film by Yeshey Tshering. The hall is second in the capital after Lugar Theatre and eighth in the country. Lugar remains almost booked for the whole year.
The new movie hall has been equipped with modern facilities like air conditioner and coffee shops and is getting good response from the movie goers.
